About st-index
What this is
st-index is an automatically generated index of brand and product mentions spoken aloud in publicly available Twitch VODs. Existing stream-monitoring tools cover stream titles, channel bios, and chat. This index covers the audio: what the streamer actually said, when they said it, and a link back to that moment in the source VOD.
How the data is collected
- Public VODs are selected from top English-language Twitch gaming channels.
- The audio is transcribed with automatic speech recognition.
- A language model extracts brand and product mentions with their timestamps.
- Each extracted brand is verified to be a real brand before publication. Video game titles and in-game content are excluded, because stream titles and categories already index those.
Current release: 60 mentions from 20 VODs (60.97 hours of speech). Last updated 2026-08-18.
What is not published
Full transcripts are never stored for publication or published here. Each entry shows only the structured fact — who mentioned what, when — together with at most one sentence of surrounding speech for context, and a link to the original VOD. There is no way to reconstruct a transcript from this site.
Update frequency
The index is rebuilt when a new batch of VODs is processed. Twitch VODs expire after a limited time; entries are kept after the source VOD is gone, since the record of what was said remains useful even when the video no longer resolves.
Accuracy and limitations
This index is generated automatically and will contain errors. Speech recognition mishears words, and automated extraction can misidentify a name. Mentions whose transcription is uncertain are labelled Uncertain transcription. Low-confidence candidates are excluded from publication entirely. Treat every entry as a machine-generated claim to be checked against the linked source, not as a verified quotation.
A mention is labelled Sponsored mention only when the speech itself states a sponsorship. Absence of that badge does not mean the mention was unpaid.
